We are located directly across the road from the Port Arthur Historic Site, placing you within easy reach of one of Australia’s most significant heritage destinations.

Set amongst landscaped grounds, the site offers a powerful insight into Australia’s convict history, with a collection of historic buildings, ruins and restored homes, along with galleries and interpretive experiences that bring the stories of the past to life.

Port Arthur Lavender

Just a short six minute drive from Port Arthur Villas, Port Arthur Lavender is a relaxed and scenic stop, perfect for a slower moment during your stay.

Set on the waterfront at Long Bay, the property features expansive lavender fields, walking trails and a visitor centre with a café and gift store. Guests can wander through the gardens, learn about the distillation process, and enjoy the calming surrounds at their own pace.

Remarkable Cave

Located just an 8–10 minute drive from Port Arthur Villas, Remarkable Cave is an easy and rewarding stop along the Tasman Peninsula.

From the car park, a short walk leads you down a series of steps to a viewing platform overlooking the cave. The return walk takes around 15 minutes and is considered moderately easy, though the steps can be steep in sections.

Tasman Island Cruises

Just a two minute drive from Port Arthur Villas, Pennicott Wilderness Journeys offers an unforgettable way to experience the dramatic coastline of the Tasman Peninsula. Departing from their local booking centre, the Tasman Island Cruise is a 3 hour wilderness experience that takes you beneath some of the highest sea cliffs in the Southern Hemisphere, along a coastline shaped by towering dolerite formations, sea caves and rugged headlands.

Along the way, you may encounter an abundance of wildlife including seals, seabirds and dolphins, with whales often sighted during migration seasons. The experience is guided throughout, offering insight into the region’s geology, history and unique ecosystem. Designed to be both immersive and memorable, this is one of the most highly regarded experiences in the region and a highlight for many visitors to Port Arthur.

Tessellated Pavement

Located at Eaglehawk Neck, approximately a 20 minute drive from Port Arthur Villas, the Tessellated Pavement is one of Tasmania’s most unique natural formations, created over time through a combination of geological fracturing and coastal erosion. It is widely regarded as one of the best examples of this rare phenomenon in the world.

Cape Huay Hike

Located within the Tasman National Park, the Cape Hauy walk is one of the most iconic coastal hikes on the Tasman Peninsula. The track is accessed via Fortescue Bay, approximately a 30 minute drive from Port Arthur Villas.

The full walk is around 9–10 kilometres return and typically takes 3 to 4 hours, following a well formed track through coastal bushland before opening out to dramatic cliff top views.

Three capes Track

The Three Capes Track is an award winning, world class 4 day, 3 night walking experience showcasing the dramatic coastline of the Tasman Peninsula.

The journey begins at the Port Arthur Historic Site, where walkers take a boat transfer along the coastline to the start of the track. From there, the 48 kilometre walk unfolds across well formed trails, including sections of crushed gravel, boardwalks and steps.
